QA Laboratory Manager

Responsibilities – Quality Laboratory Manager

• Lead laboratory testing – Microbiology and physico-chemical analysis.
• Ensure ISO/IEC 17025 compliance – Maintain PAB accreditation and laboratory standards.
• Provide technical expertise – Testing methods, validation, equipment, and laboratory requirements.
• Monitor trends and risks – Identify trends, flag abnormalities, and forecast potential hazards. Predictive microbiology
• Lead investigations – Support FSO RCA, contamination, and food safety investigations.
• Develop people – Train, coach, and assess laboratory competency.
• Improve laboratory capability – Standardize and strengthen methods, systems, technology, and efficiency nationwide
• Support business decisions – Translate laboratory data into clear quality and food safety actions.

Qualifications:

Experience

• Minimum 7 years relevant laboratory experience, preferably in food manufacturing, food testing, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated laboratory environments.

• At least 3 years in a supervisory/managerial or technical leadership role.

• Strong hands-on experience in microbiological laboratory testing.

• Demonstrated experience in physico-chemical analysis.

• Experience in managing or supporting a PAB-accredited ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory.

• Knowledge on Predictive microbiology

• Microbiological testing and interpretation

• Food microbiology and environmental microbiology

• Physico-chemical laboratory testing

• ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and implementation

• Laboratory quality management systems

• Method validation/verification

• OOS/OOT investigation

• Proficiency testing and measurement uncertainty

• Equipment calibration and measurement traceability

• Good Laboratory Practices and data integrity

• HACCP and food safety principles

• Root cause analysis and CAPA
