As QA Lead at NTS Singapore, you will be responsible for driving quality excellence across the Mechatronics business by leading the Quality Management System (QMS), managing customer quality performance, and developing a high-performing team of Quality Engineers and QA/QC Inspectors.

You will act as the primary quality representative for key customers, serving as the single point of contact for customer quality escalations and ensuring timely resolution of complex technical and quality issues. Leveraging your strong technical understanding of mechatronics modules and manufacturing processes, you will work closely with Engineering, Operations, Program Management, Supply Chain, and customers to deliver robust quality performance throughout the product lifecycle.

You will also play a key role in strengthening quality culture, standardizing quality processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the Mechatronics business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the Quality Manager to drive the continuous improvement, effectiveness, and standardization of the Quality Management System (QMS) across the Mechatronics business, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, customer-specific requirements, and business objectives.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of Quality Engineers and QA/QC Inspectors supporting customer programs and manufacturing operations.
  • Serve as the primary NTS quality interface for customers and act as the single point of contact for all customer quality escalations.
  • Lead customer complaint investigations and ensure effective root cause analysis, corrective actions, and timely communication to customers.
  • Establish strong customer relationships and drive customer satisfaction through proactive quality management and issue resolution.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to resolve complex manufacturing, process, assembly, and product quality issues involving mechatronics modules and systems.
  • Drive standardization and deployment of quality processes, procedures, inspection plans, control plans, and risk mitigation activities across the organization.
  • Monitor and improve key quality metrics, including customer complaints, PPM, yield, non-conformances, rework, cost of poor quality, and on-time closure of corrective actions.
  • Lead internal audits, customer audits, management reviews, and external certification audits.
  • Drive CAPA effectiveness and structured problem-solving using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Analysis, and PFMEA.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI), qualification activities, and production readiness reviews to ensure robust quality planning and risk management.
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations teams to improve process capability, manufacturing robustness, and product quality performance.
  • Support supplier quality improvement and escalation activities when required.
  • Foster a culture of quality ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of quality engineering/management experience in a mechatronics, precision engineering, electromechanical, or complex assembly production environment. Strong mechatronics production experience is essential. Cleanroom experience is an advantage.
  • 3+ years of experience leading Quality Engineers/teams, with a proven track record of developing teams and driving quality improvements.
  • Strong experience in customer quality, escalations, audits, corrective actions, and quality improvement programmes, including customer-facing activities.
  • Strong technical understanding of mechatronic systems, precision assemblies, and manufacturing processes, with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and assembly-related quality issues.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001/QMS and quality methodologies, including 8D, 5 Why, Root Cause Analysis, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA/Gage R&R, Cp/Cpk, and FAI.
  • Good understanding of precision assembly, machining, sheet-metal fabrication, and mechatronics manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work visibly and effectively across the organisation and with customers.
  • Results-driven and persistent, with the ability to influence stakeholders, challenge existing ways of working, and drive sustainable cultural and process improvements together with cross-functional leadership peers.
  • Internal or Lead Auditor certification is an advantage
