What they need
QA Manager Digital Banking (Mobile & Web)
Experience: 12 -15+ Years
Role Type: People Management & Strategy
Role Overview
As the QA Manager for Digital Banking, you will be responsible for the end-to-end Quality Engineering (QE) strategy for our Retail Net and Mobile Banking platforms. Unlike the Lead SDET role, this position involves direct people management, including hiring, performance reviews, and career development for a team of SDETs and QA Engineers. You will bridge the gap between technical execution and business objectives, ensuring that high-scale banking products (UPI, Payments, Loans) are delivered with zero-defect leakage.
Leadership & People Management
Team Development: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of SDETs and QA Engineers. Drive performance management, talent retention, and career pathing.
Resource Planning: Manage resource allocation across multiple squads, ensuring optimal utilization and skill-to-task mapping.
Recruitment: Lead the hiring process for the QE division to scale technical capabilities in automation and cloud-native testing.
Strategic QE Governance
- Test Strategy & Roadmap: Define and implement the long-term QE roadmap for Digital Banking, aligning it with the overall Engineering strategy.
- Efficiency & Quality Initiatives: Drive organization-wide quality initiatives focused on Efficiency Gains, Shift-Left testing, and Cost Optimization.
- Metrics & Reporting: Establish and govern KPIs/SLAs. Provide executive-level reports and actionable insights using JIRA, Zephyr, and custom dashboards.
- Process Engineering: Define and refine QE processes in a SAFe Agile environment to improve velocity without compromising banking security.
Technical Oversight
- BFSI Knowledge: Provide leadership across complex banking domains (UPI, Payments, Wallets, Onboarding, Loans, and Investments).
- Automation Strategy: Overlook the transition from manual to Automation-First testing. Provide architectural guidance on SDET and TDD frameworks.
- Cloud & Observability: Ensure the team is effectively utilizing GCP Transaction/Interface logs for root cause analysis and performance monitoring.
- AI Adoption: Lead the adoption of AI in QE, including the integration of GitHub Co-Pilot and Generative AI tools to accelerate the testing lifecycle.
- DevSecOps Excellence: Collaborate with DevOps to ensure seamless integration of automation suites into the CI/CD pipeline.
Stakeholder & Project Management
- Executive Collaboration: Work closely with the QE Head, Product Owners, and Lead Developers to ensure alignment on release timelines and quality gates.
- Defect Management: Lead cross-functional Defect Triage meetings and ensure timely resolution of production-critical issues.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify project risks related to quality and provide mitigation plans to executive leadership.
Tools & Competencies
- Test Automation Tech: Python, Selenium, EggPlant, Katalon (Knowledge of architecture, not necessarily coding daily).
- Management & Governance: JIRA, Confluence, Zephyr, Rational Quality Manager.
- Cloud/API: GCP Logs, Postman, API Gateway security.
- Methodology: Expert-level SAFe Agile and TDD/BDD.
Model: 4 Days Work-from-Office (Mandatory)
