About the Company

About the Role

Role Summary: We are seeking a results-driven QA manager to lead cross-functional testing teams, drive modern AI-enhanced test automation strategies, and ensure the highest standards of delivery quality across global projects. In this role, you will oversee test planning, defect management, CI/CD integration, vendor relations, and delivery metrics, while remaining hands-on with our primary automation stack centered around Playwright, TypeScript, JavaScript, and SQL. The ideal candidate blends strong technical QA architecture expertise with proven delivery leadership, scrum facilitation, and team mentorship.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Resource Management Direct and mentor cross-functional QA teams distributed across multiple regions (LATAM, US, and India), managing staffing, performance, and resource allocation.
  • Conduct talent acquisition, interview candidates, and onboard top-tier engineering talent to scale high-performing QA capabilities.
  • Negotiate contracts with external tool vendors and manage Statements of Work (SOWs) with clients to establish clear metrics, KPIs, and accountability guidelines.
  • Test Strategy & Technical Execution Own and approve QA project backlogs, end-to-end test plans, release readiness criteria, and defect triage workflows.
  • Design, maintain, and scale UI and API test automation frameworks using Playwright with TypeScript and JavaScript.
  • Perform backend data validation, write complex SQL queries, and maintain data integrity across core business platforms and integrations (e.g., Salesforce, NetSuite).
  • Integrate automated test suites into modern CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms to maximize test coverage and reduce cycle time.
  • Leverage AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, AI-assisted test agents) and modern plugins (e.g., Playwright MCP) to optimize test creation, execution, and execution reporting.
  • Delivery, Agile & Stakeholder Engagement: Partner closely with project managers, developers, and solution architects to align release goals and maintain strict quality benchmarks throughout the sprint lifecycle.
  • Facilitate Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to optimize delivery throughput.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as defect detection rate, automation pass rates, and cycle efficiency, regularly presenting progress highlights and risk mitigation strategies to executive stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Required Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer systems engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Leadership Experience: 5+ years of experience in QA leadership, project/delivery management, or QA engineering roles supervising multi-regional or distributed teams.

Required Skills

  • Core Technical Stack: Frameworks: Expert proficiency with Playwright for web and cross-browser automation. (Familiarity with Cypress or Selenium is a plus).
  • Languages: Advanced hands-on experience in TypeScript and JavaScript.
  • Databases: Strong proficiency in SQL for relational database testing, data verification, and scripting.
  • API & Web Testing: Strong experience with web services/API testing using tools like Postman, Swagger, Datadog, or RESTful automation libraries.
  • Tooling & Test Management: Experience utilizing Jira, Xray, Zephyr, GitHub, Azure DevOps, and AI development tools (e.g., Copilot).
  • Agile Mastery: Deep understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban) and enterprise delivery tools.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills for client-facing reporting and team collaboration across geographic regions.
