Qa Manual Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse business and functional requirements to design comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, and test

plans.

• Execute functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, system, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

across web and enterprise applications.

• Perform exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and usability issues not covered by scripted test cases.
• Log, track, and manage defects through their full lifecycle identification, triage, retesting, and closure —

using a defect tracking tool (e.g., JIRA).

• Validate REST APIs and backend responses using tools such as Postman, including request/response and

status-code checks.

• Perform basic backend and data validation using SQL queries against relational databases.
• Maintain and update the Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM) to ensure full test coverage.
• Conduct cross-browser and cross-device compatibility testing where applicable.
• Support UAT cycles and production release validation, coordinating with business stakeholders.
• Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies — sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives — and provide

QA input during grooming.

• Prepare and maintain clear test documentation: test plans, test cases, test summary reports, and defect

reports.

• Collaborate with developers to reproduce, troubleshoot, and verify the resolution of reported defects.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, checklists, and testing standards.

Required Skill & Qualification:

• 4+ of hands-on experience in manual/functional software testing.
• Strong understanding of STLC, SDLC, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Proven experience writing clear, thorough test scenarios, test cases, and test plans from requirements/user

stories.

• Hands-on experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, TestRail,

Zephyr, or similar.

• Working knowledge of API testing using Postman (request construction, response/status validation, basic

assertions).

• Working knowledge of SQL for backend/data validation.
• Solid grasp of different testing types: functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, UAT, and

exploratory testing.

• Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and defect-reporting clarity.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with developers, BAs, and

product owners.
