QA / QC Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for two (2) driven QA/QC Engineers to join our team in Penang Science Park. You will be responsible for ensuring high quality standards in precision engineering manufacturing—one position focusing on Customer Quality & Quality Assurance (QA), and the second focusing on Supplier Quality & Incoming Control (QC).

Key Responsibilities

(Vacancy 1): QA Engineer (Customer & Internal Quality)

1. Demonstrate compliance with customer requirements utilizing 5 Core Quality Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA) and 8D Methodology.
2. Lead customer complaint investigations, coordinate root-cause analysis, and ensure effective implementation of corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
3. Review product Initial Sample Inspection Reports (ISIR), including Statistical Process Control (SPC), CP, and CPK prepared by the Metrology team.
4. Coordinate failure analysis, closure for returned parts (RMA), and monitor containment/purge activities.
5. Act as the primary point of contact for customer audits, including audit preparation, execution, and follow-up.
6. Interpret engineering drawings, MIL specifications, IPC, and ISO quality standards.

(Vacancy 2): QC Engineer (Supplier Quality & Vendor Management)

1. Act as the primary technical point of contact liaison with suppliers and subcontractors.
2. Manage supplier quality performance, incoming raw material/component quality, and vendor compliance.
3. Issue Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) and drive 8D root-cause resolution for raw material/machined part non-conformances.
4. Review and approve supplier ISIR, First Article Inspection (FAI), and material certificates.
5. Monitor supplier quality metrics (PPM, defect rates) and conduct periodic vendor review meetings.
6. Coordinate factory-level containment and purge activities upon detection of supplier-related defectives.
7. Collaborate with Procurement & Purchasing to qualify new suppliers, subcontractors, and raw material sources.

Job Requirements

1. Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Industrial, Materials Engineering, or equivalent.
2. Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in precision engineering, CNC machining, metal fabrication, or a related manufacturing environment.
3. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to interface with customers, internal production, and external suppliers.
4. Core Skills:

• Proficient in 8D Problem Solving, 5 Core Quality Tools, and ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 standards.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings and GD&T symbols.
• Hands-on experience with measuring instruments, SPC interpretation (Cp/Cpk), and failure analysis.
