Job Description

TUV India Pvt. Ltd., a part of the TV NORD GROUP, is looking for an experienced QA/QC Engineer – Mechanical for an industrial project at Sabarmati, Ahmedabad.

The candidate must have hands-on experience in structural steel fabrication, welding inspection, quality control and NDT activities associated with industrial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct quality inspections of structural steel fabrication, erection and welding activities as per approved drawings, specifications and applicable standards.
• Monitor QA/QC activities for industrial steel structures and fabrication works.
• Perform visual welding inspections and coordinate NDT activities such as UT, RT, MT and PT.
• Review and verify WPS, PQR, welder qualification records and welding inspection reports.
• Inspect fabrication activities, including cutting, fit-up, alignment, dimensional accuracy and welding.
• Prepare and implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), quality checklists and inspection reports.
• Ensure compliance with approved quality plans, project specifications, IS codes and applicable international standards.
• Conduct incoming material inspections and verify Material Test Certificates (MTC).
• Monitor fabrication quality at workshops and construction sites.
• Identify non-conformities, raise NCRs and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, third-party inspection agencies and project teams.
• Maintain QA/QC documentation, inspection records, NDT reports and quality dossiers.
• Ensure quality compliance throughout fabrication, erection and final handover activities.

Mandatory Requirements

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant QA/QC experience.
• NDT Level II certification is mandatory.
• Strong experience in structural steel fabrication and welding inspection.
• Experience working on industrial construction projects.
• Knowledge of WPS, PQR, ITP, MTC, NCR and quality documentation.
• Familiarity with applicable welding and fabrication standards.
• Experience in structural fabrication inspection, dimensional checks and quality assurance.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Candidates from industrial construction, steel fabrication, heavy engineering or structural steel projects.
• Experience working with PMC companies, EPC contractors or industrial project consultants.
• Candidates based in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar or nearby Gujarat locations will be preferred.
• Ability to coordinate independently with fabrication contractors and project stakeholders.
