What they need

Context

ToldUntold is a learning and sales performance platform built for brands that take their people seriously. The company helps retail and luxury teams turn product knowledge into real commercial impact through smart content, data-driven insights, and tools that actually get used. ToldUntold’s approach is confident, modern, and obsessively focused on what moves the needle.

This is a freelance/contract position, semi-remote and Paris-based, suited to someone who thrives wearing multiple hats and keeping things moving without being told twice.

Missions

QA Testing (75% of the role)

  • Design and maintain test plans, test cases, and regression suites across web and mobile

  • Drive the transition from manual to fully automated testing to minimize manual QA and build reliable, repeatable test coverage

  • Build and maintain automated test suites (unit, integration, end-to-end) to reduce manual overhead and accelerate release cycles

  • Establish an automation-first testing culture, where manual testing is the exception, not the default

  • Own bug tracking end-to-end: identification, documentation, prioritization, and verification of fixes

  • Validate releases against acceptance criteria before they ship

  • Identify edge cases, flag regressions, and advocate for quality at every stage

Documentation (10% of the role)

  • Write and maintain clear technical documentation, architecture overviews, API references, integration guides

  • Document internal processes, workflows, and development standards

  • Produce release notes and changelogs that are accurate and useful

  • Keep documentation current as the product evolves; retire outdated content

Dev Team Management (15% of the role)

  • Coordinate a small team of 1–3 developers: task assignment, priorities, unblocking

  • Run lightweight sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives

  • Oversee GitHub workflows — PRs, code review processes, branching strategy, release management

  • Track delivery against milestones and communicate progress to stakeholders

  • Foster a culture of accountability, clarity, and shipping

Tools & Environment

  • Web and mobile platforms

  • Test automation frameworks (unit, integration, end-to-end)

  • GitHub or GitLab workflows (pull requests, CI checks, issue tracking)

  • AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Copilot, etc.

  • Project management tools (nice to have): Jira, Linear, Notion

Working Conditions

  • Freelance/contract basis

  • Semi-remote with Paris-based presence

  • Compensation: 3,500€ per month 4 days per week

  • Flexible work environment with several team meetings per month in Paris

  • Startup energy and pace with a creative, design-led product environment

  • Direct impact on team operations and product delivery

Profile wanted

  1. 5+ years of experience across QA, documentation, or technical project/team management
  2. Solid understanding of full-stack web and mobile development
  3. Hands-on experience with GitHub or GitLab workflows (pull requests, CI checks, issue tracking)
  4. Strong background in test automation frameworks and QA methodologies, able to architect an automation strategy
  5. Strong written communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely
  6. Comfortable working asynchronously across time zones
  7. Highly comfortable using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Copilot, etc.) to accelerate workflows
