QA/QC Assistant

About the role

The QA/QC Assistant (Release Liner Manufacturing) supports the operational quality team in executing daily inspection routines, managing laboratory documentation, and ensuring regulatory compliance. This role plays a critical part in monitoring substrate quality, testing coating performance, isolating defects, and supporting overall ISO 9001 compliance to deliver flawless release liners to our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform thorough incoming (base paper/films), in-process (coating/slitting), and finished product quality inspections against design prints and technical specifications.
• Conduct basic laboratory tests—including silicone coating weight verification, release force testing, and adhesion tests—using specialized lab equipment, recording all test results accurately.
• Check physical release liner quality (e.g., appearance, dimensions, web tension, and curing defects) against strict specifications and target customer requirements.
• Assist in identifying, isolating, and handling non-conforming products or roll defects to prevent them from moving down the supply chain.
• Support the formal investigation of quality issues, process deviations (like web breaks or coating streaks), and customer complaints.
• Maintain up-to-date, organized QA/QC records, inspection certificates, roll traceability files, and general department documentation.
• Ensure testing equipment (e.g., electronic tensile testers, XRF analyzer gauges) is calibrated correctly, maintain calibration logs, and ensure laboratory areas are properly maintained.
• Follow all company SOPs, ISO 9001 quality management system requirements, and standard workplace safety procedures.
• Support the broader production, slitting, and QA/QC teams in day-to-day quality control and 5S contamination-control activities.

About you

• Certificate or Diploma in Chemical Process Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Material Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a QA/QC role (experience in web handling, converting, laminating, paper, film, or release liner manufacturing is highly preferred).
• Must be able to work rotational shifts and perform overtime on Saturdays when required by production schedules.
• Basic familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, cleanroom protocol, or general auditing practices.
• Proficient with basic measuring instruments, tools, or specific material testing software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) for report creation and quality data entry.
• High attention to visual detail (spotting surface scratches or coating skips), strong analytical problem-solving skills, and a team-oriented mindset.
