QA/QC ASSISTANT

About the role

This role involves quality control and assurance across seafood processing operations, from raw material inspection through to finished product verification. You will monitor production lines, ensure compliance with food safety standards, and maintain detailed documentation of quality processes.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect raw materials for quality, freshness, temperature, and cleanliness upon arrival from suppliers or fishing boats before processing
• Monitor production lines (cleaning, cutting, freezing, packaging) to ensure workers comply with hygiene procedures and product specifications
• Conduct sampling, physical/sensory testing, and verification or temperature on finished products before dispatch to customers or export
• Ensure the factory complies with HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), and sanitation hygiene standards (SSOP)
• Record and update daily quality control reports, laboratory test results, and product traceability records
• Assist with internal audits, pest control checks, and monitoring of worker personal hygiene on the production floor
• Investigate causes of product damage, contamination, or customer complaints, and recommend corrective actions

About you

• Aged 20–28 years
• Blue IC (SABAH)
• Minimum SPM pass in Science stream (preference given to those with Mathematics)
• Proficient in computer use (especially Microsoft Office)
• At least 2 years of work experience (advantage if in Food Manufacturing)
• Good physical health
• Able to listen to and follow instructions accurately
• No issues with overtime (OT) if required
• No transportation problems
