Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented QA/QC Engineer – Civil to join our project team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing quality assurance and quality control procedures, conducting site inspections, ensuring compliance with approved drawings and project specifications, and maintaining quality standards throughout all civil construction activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the project Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) plan in accordance with project requirements.
• Conduct inspections of civil construction activities, including excavation, backfilling, foundations, reinforcement, formwork, concrete works, blockwork, plastering, waterproofing, and finishing works, as applicable.
• Ensure all construction activities comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, method statements, and applicable codes and standards.
• Prepare, review, and submit Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, method statements, and other quality-related documents.
• Coordinate and submit Inspection Requests (IRs) and Material Inspection Requests (MIRs) to the client and consultant for review and approval.
• Inspect construction materials and verify compliance with approved material submittals and project specifications.
• Coordinate concrete sampling, slump tests, compressive strength tests, soil compaction tests, and other required material testing activities.
• Monitor site activities and ensure that quality procedures are followed by site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and other project personnel.
• Identify quality issues, raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, test reports, material approvals, quality documentation, and inspection logs.
• Coordinate with the client, consultant, subcontractors, and project team to resolve quality-related issues and obtain necessary approvals.
• Conduct internal quality audits and ensure compliance with project quality requirements.
• Support the preparation of as-built documentation, quality dossiers, and project handover documents.
• Ensure that all civil works are completed in accordance with approved specifications and required quality standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Relevant experience in QA/QC within building construction, infrastructure, or civil engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, engineering drawings, technical specifications, and applicable quality standards.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing ITPs, inspection checklists, NCRs, and quality documentation.
• Familiarity with concrete, reinforcement, earthworks, waterproofing, and other civil construction inspection procedures.
• Knowledge of relevant ASTM, BS, ACI, or other applicable standards, depending on project requirements.
• Proficiency in MS Office and the ability to maintain organized quality records.
• Good communication, coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with project teams, consultants, and clients.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working on consultant-supervised construction projects.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
• Relevant QA/QC certifications and client or consultant approvals, where applicable.
• Experience in preparing quality reports, conducting audits, and managing non-conformities.
