QAQC Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated QAQC Engineer to join Yu Tong Construction Sdn Bhd in Penang. This is a critical position that plays a vital role in ensuring the quality, safety and compliance of our construction projects. As QAQC Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining rigorous quality assurance and quality control standards across all construction activities, directly contributing to the successful delivery of our projects and the satisfaction of our clients. This role is essential in upholding our commitment to excellence and regulatory compliance within the construction industry.

What you'll be doing

• Conducting regular inspections and audits of construction sites to ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes and industry standards

• Developing and implementing quality control plans and procedures tailored to each project's requirements

• Testing and verifying materials, workmanship and construction methods to ensure they meet contractual and regulatory specifications

• Documenting inspection findings, test results and non-conformances through detailed reports and records

• Identifying defects, deviations and areas of non-compliance, and coordinating corrective actions with site management and contractors

• Liaising with project managers, contractors, consultants and clients to communicate quality issues and progress updates

• Maintaining comprehensive quality documentation, including test certificates, inspection checklists and photographic evidence

• Preparing quality assurance reports and presentations for project stakeholders and management

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in quality assurance and quality control within construction projects

• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes,

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify defects, inconsistencies and areas of non-compliance

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and professional reports

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple inspections whilst maintaining high standards

• Physical fitness and willingness to spend significant time on active construction sites

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD software would be advantageous
