QA/QC Engineer – Job Description

Position: QA/QC Engineer – Civil
Industry: Construction / Industrial Building
Location: Mettur, Tamil Nadu
Experience: 3–8 Years
Salary: ₹25,000 – ₹40,000 per month

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced QA/QC Engineer to monitor and maintain quality standards for civil construction and industrial building works. The candidate will be responsible for quality inspections, material testing, documentation, and ensuring that construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and inspect civil construction activities at the site.
• Ensure work is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Conduct inspections of RCC, concrete, reinforcement, masonry, plastering, flooring, structural and finishing works.
• Check incoming construction materials and ensure they meet required specifications.
• Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, consultants, and testing laboratories.
• Prepare and maintain Inspection Requests (IR), Checklists, Quality Reports, Test Reports, and NCR reports.
• Monitor concrete sampling, slump tests, cube tests, and other required material tests.
• Identify quality issues and coordinate corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain proper QA/QC documentation and inspection records.
• Ensure compliance with project quality procedures and applicable standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections and report quality deviations to the project management team.
• Assist in preparing method statements and inspection & test plans (ITP).
• Ensure proper implementation of approved method statements and ITPs.
• Maintain records of material approvals, test certificates, inspection reports, and calibration certificates.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering
• 3–8 years of relevant experience in civil construction/industrial building projects.
• Good knowledge of construction materials and quality-control procedures.
• Knowledge of IS codes, specifications, ITP, Method Statements, and NCR procedures.
• Good documentation and reporting skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with site teams and contractors.

Preferred Skills

• Strong knowledge of civil construction quality standards.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to identify construction defects and quality deviations.
• Basic knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word.
• Willingness to work at the project site.
