QA/QC Engineer

About the role

Design Coordinates, Inc. is seeking a dedicated QA/QC Engineer to join our team in Central Luzon. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality across our construction projects. As a QA/QC Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining rigorous quality assurance and quality control processes throughout all phases of construction. This role is essential to our commitment to delivering projects that meet or exceed client expectations, regulatory standards, and industry best practices. You will work on-site and in the office, collaborating with project teams to identify potential issues before they become costly problems.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections and tests of construction materials, equipment, and workmanship to ensure compliance with specifications and standards
• Develop and implement quality assurance and quality control plans for assigned projects
• Document all inspection results, test data, and non-conformance reports with detailed records and photographic evidence
• Perform site audits and assessments to verify adherence to safety regulations, building codes, and project specifications
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to identify and resolve quality issues promptly
• Maintain calibration records and ensure all testing equipment is properly maintained and certified
• Prepare comprehensive QA/QC reports and present findings to project stakeholders and management
• Conduct training and orientation sessions for construction teams on quality standards and procedures
• Investigate quality defects and non-conformances, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions
• Liaise with suppliers and vendors to ensure materials meet required specifications upon delivery

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• Proven experience as a QA/QC Engineer or Quality Inspector in the construction industry, preferably 3+ years
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, testing procedures, and industry standards (such as Philippine National Standards and Building Code provisions)
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings and specifications
• Excellent understanding of quality control techniques and statistical analysis methods
• Experience with testing equipment and laboratory procedures for concrete, steel, and other construction materials
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to document findings clearly and concisely
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all quality-related documentation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Physical capability to conduct on-site inspections, including climbing scaffolding and working at heights
• Familiarity with quality management systems and ISO standards is an advantage
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed
