QAQC Engineer from Construction Background

Job Title: QA/QC Engineer (Construction)Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QA/QC Engineer to ensure that construction activities comply with project specifications, applicable standards, client requirements, and quality management procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong construction background and hands-on experience in quality assurance and quality control throughout all project phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain Project Quality Plans (PQP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and Method Statements.
• Conduct inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Monitor site activities and verify workmanship meets project and client requirements.
• Prepare and review Inspection Requests (IRs) and Material Inspection Requests (MIRs).
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and site teams during inspections.
• Identify quality issues and raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) where required.
• Follow up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to ensure timely closure.
• Review material submittals, shop drawings, and technical documentation from a quality perspective.
• Maintain quality records, inspection reports, test results, and documentation.
• Witness site and laboratory testing of construction materials.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements.
• Conduct internal quality audits and participate in external audits.
• Monitor calibration status of testing and measuring equipment.
• Support project teams in resolving quality-related issues.
• Prepare weekly and monthly QA/QC reports for project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3–7 years of QA/QC experience in construction projects.
• Experience in residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction quality standards and inspection procedures.
• Familiarity with local and international codes and standards (ASTM, BS, ACI, ISO, etc.).
• Certification in ISO 9001 Internal Auditor is preferred.
• CSWIP, NACE, or equivalent certification is an advantage (depending on project scope).

Required Skills

• Excellent knowledge of QA/QC processes.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong documentation and report-writing skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document control systems.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with main contractors or EPC contractors.
• Hands-on experience in structural, architectural, and finishing works.
• Knowledge of concrete works, steel structures, MEP coordination, and finishing inspections.
• Experience with client/consultant inspections and project handover documentation.

Pay: AED10,000.00 - AED15,000.00 per month
