QA/QC Engineer Mechanical or Electrical

Our client is seeking an experienced QA/QC Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) to join a Construction Monitoring Team (CMT) on a major data centre project in Frankfurt, Germany. Working as the independent technical authority, you will monitor construction quality, review contractor quality processes, and ensure compliance with contract requirements, approved designs, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and assess General Contractor QA/QC plans, procedures, and inspection records.
• Monitor inspections, testing activities, and quality documentation.
• Review technical submittals, shop drawings, material approvals, and method statements.
• Conduct site inspections to verify works comply with approved documentation and quality requirements.
• Identify non-conformances and issue NCRs where applicable.
• Monitor corrective actions through to close-out.
• Track quality metrics, defects, punch lists, and outstanding issues.
• Liaise with the client, GC, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Contribute to weekly project reports covering quality, progress, risks, and HSE updates.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and German construction standards.

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or related discipline.
• Proven QA/QC experience on large-scale data centre projects.
• Strong understanding of mission-critical MEP systems.
• Experience reviewing ITPs, method statements, and technical submissions.
• Knowledge of commissioning, testing, and handover processes within data centres.
• Experience working for contractors, consultancies, PMCs, or client-side organisations.
• Strong reporting and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent English required; German language skills advantageous.
