Job Description

We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Manager – High Voltage Systems to lead quality assurance and quality control activities for high-voltage substation projects in Malaysia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring project quality, regulatory compliance, inspection and testing standards, supplier quality, and continuous improvement across HV substation projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 requirements and company quality policies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable national and international high-voltage substation standards, regulations, and utility/grid requirements.
• Lead internal and external quality audits, certification readiness, and change-control processes.
• Establish project-specific quality requirements, Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and quality procedures.
• Conduct and oversee inspections, testing, and quality verification of HV equipment, components, and site installations.
• Monitor project quality performance and ensure compliance with approved specifications, drawings, procedures, and standards.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve non-conformances (NCRs) through root-cause analysis and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
• Evaluate, qualify, and audit suppliers and subcontractors while monitoring their quality performance.
• Work closely with engineering, project management, construction, testing, and commissioning teams to ensure quality objectives are achieved.
• Lead, mentor, and develop QA/QC Engineers, inspectors, and site quality personnel.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience in High Voltage Substation projects.
• Strong experience with GIS and/or AIS substations, preferably within an EPC, OEM, or power transmission environment.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems.
• Good understanding of HV equipment standards, testing requirements, and utility/grid compliance.
• Proven experience in QA/QC, HV equipment inspection, testing, commissioning, and supplier quality management.
• Experience handling NCRs, root-cause analysis, CAPA, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to lead quality teams and work effectively in a project-based environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with international energy, power, EPC, or electrical equipment organizations.
• Knowledge of major international HV standards and utility requirements.
• Experience managing quality activities for large-scale substation or power transmission projects.
• Professional certification in quality management or auditing would be an advantage.
