Company Overview

Omineca is a leading industrial contractor providing fabrication, welding, machining, maintenance and pressure piping services across Western Canada and the United States. We take pride in delivering safe, high-quality work to key industrial sectors (sawmills, pulp mills, mines, and plants).

At Omineca, we are driven by our passion for excellence. This same drive and energy is reflected at every level of our operations from the office to the shop floor to our project worksites.

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Welding Inspector to join our dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural and pressure welding as well as piping installations with expertise in non-destructive testing procedures and visual weld inspection.

During peak periods, this position will focus primarily on quality control and weld inspection. During slower inspection periods, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to leverage their welding skills as a certified welder.

This position plays a key role within our company as it ensures superior weld quality and upholds Omineca's reputation for excellence in the industry.

  • Provide guidance and training to welders/fabricators on code adherence and procedural compliance.
  • Perform structural and pressure-piping welding (in shop or field).
  • Assist with spooling, fit-up, alignment, preheat/post heat, weld repair, etc.
  • Troubleshoot fabrication, welding, or piping installation issues to support project execution.
  • Travel to customer sites / remote locations as required.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 CWB Certified Visual Welding Inspector for CSA W178.2 ( Level 3 considered an asset).
