Job Summary

We are looking for a QA/QC Welding Inspector with 1–5 years of experience to monitor and inspect welding and fabrication activities and ensure compliance with approved drawings, welding procedures, project specifications and applicable quality standards.

Experience in steel fabrication and structural welding will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect welding and fabrication activities at different stages of production.
• Carry out visual inspection of welds (VT) and identify defects or deviations.
• Inspect joint preparation, fit-up, alignment, root gap, bevel angle and cleanliness before welding.
• Verify welding parameters and ensure compliance with approved WPS.
• Check welding consumables, identification, storage and handling.
• Verify welder qualifications and ensure welders are assigned work within their approved qualifications.
• Monitor preheating, interpass temperature and other applicable welding requirements.
• Inspect completed welds for defects and ensure required repairs are properly completed.
• Coordinate and monitor NDT activities, including DPT, MPT, UT and RT, as applicable.
• Review NDT reports and maintain proper inspection records.
• Check dimensional accuracy and conformity of fabricated components against approved drawings.
• Maintain weld maps, inspection reports, checklists and quality documentation.
• Raise and follow up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when required.
• Coordinate with production and fabrication teams to resolve quality issues.
• Ensure corrective actions are implemented and verified.
• Assist with client, consultant and third-party inspections.
• Ensure material and weld traceability is maintained throughout the fabrication process.
• Monitor fabrication activities for compliance with approved drawings, specifications and quality procedures.
• Maintain proper records of inspections, NDT results, repairs and other quality activities.
• Support the QA/QC Engineer or Manager in implementing project quality requirements.
• Follow company safety and quality procedures at all times.

Educational Qualification

• Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• Welding inspection or QA/QC certification will be an advantage.

Experience & Technical Requirements

• 1–5 years of experience as a Welding Inspector / QA/QC Inspector.
• Experience in steel fabrication, structural fabrication or mechanical fabrication preferred.
• Good understanding of welding processes such as SMAW, GMAW/MIG, GTAW/TIG and FCAW.
• Knowledge of welding inspection and common weld defects.
• Understanding of WPS, PQR and Welder Qualification/WQT.
• Knowledge of welding symbols and fabrication drawings.
• Basic knowledge of applicable welding and fabrication codes and standards.
• Experience coordinating NDT activities.
• Ability to use basic measuring and inspection tools.
• Good documentation and reporting skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Certifications

Candidates with any of the following will have an advantage:

• CSWIP Welding Inspector
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
• International Welding Inspector certification
• NDT Level II – VT / PT / MT / UT
• Other relevant QA/QC or welding inspection certifications

Preferred Candidate

Candidates with 1–5 years of hands-on experience in QA/QC welding inspection, particularly those from steel fabrication, structural steel or mechanical fabrication industries, are preferred.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
