QC Chemist

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented QC Chemist to join our pharmaceutical intermediates manufacturing facility. The candidate will be responsible for testing raw materials, in-process samples and finished products, ensuring that all materials meet the required quality specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform chemical analysis of raw materials, in-process samples and finished products.
• Conduct routine analysis using laboratory instruments and analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, titration, moisture analysis and other wet chemistry methods.
• Perform testing as per approved specifications, test methods and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Prepare and maintain accurate laboratory records, analytical reports and test results.
• Review analytical results and identify any out-of-specification (OOS) or abnormal results.
• Coordinate with the Production and R&D teams regarding analytical results and process-related issues.
• Assist in method development, method validation and method transfer where required.
• Maintain proper calibration and routine checks of laboratory instruments.
• Prepare and maintain reagents, solutions and laboratory standards.
• Ensure proper sampling, labelling and storage of samples.
• Follow laboratory safety procedures, GMP/GLP practices and company quality procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping of the QC laboratory.
• Assist in maintaining documentation required for audits and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Chemistry.
• M.Sc. Chemistry candidates will be preferred.
• Candidates with relevant experience in pharmaceutical intermediates, API, speciality chemicals or fine chemicals will be preferred.

Experience

• 27 years of relevant experience in Quality Control / Analytical Chemistry.
• Experience in a pharmaceutical, API, pharmaceutical-intermediate or chemical manufacturing environment is preferred

Desired Skills

• Good practical knowledge of HPLC and GC.
• Strong understanding of analytical chemistry and wet chemistry techniques.
• Ability to interpret chromatograms and analytical results.
• Knowledge of laboratory documentation and SOPs
• Good attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with Production and R&D teams.
