Schedule: On-site, core hours 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Salary Range: $130,000 - $150,000

This unprecedented growth has created a high-visibility leadership opportunity to step in, build out robust quality systems from scratch, and lead our plant through its milestone SQF certification early next year.

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on, collaborative Director of Quality Control (open to a strong Senior Manager) to own, build, and implement our comprehensive food safety and quality systems during this pivotal growth phase. This role sits above our existing QC structure-overseeing a QC Supervisor, QC Lead, and 3 QC Technicians. You will manage HACCP programs across both USDA (poultry, beef, pork) and FDA (produce, shrimp, sauces) product lines.

The ideal candidate is not just an auditor or a critic, but a teacher and mentor who fosters a collaborative culture, builds systems from the ground up, and guides our growing team through critical upcoming SQF certifications and major retail audits.

Key Responsibilities

• SQF Implementation & Food Safety Leadership: Spearhead the journey to achieve full SQF certification early next year, owning and implementing all food safety programs from scratch for a young, rapidly expanding manufacturing facility.
• HACCP & Major Customer Compliance: Oversee HACCP programs across multi-line USDA (poultry, meats) and FDA (produce, shrimp, sauces) manufacturing processes, ensuring full compliance to meet the rigorous standards of major accounts like Costco.
• Team Building & Mentorship: Build, train, and develop the QC department-providing direct leadership to the QC Supervisor, QC Lead, and QC Technicians. Cultivate a collaborative, coaching-oriented floor culture.
• Operational Execution: Maintain an active on-site presence, anchoring the core 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM production window with on-call flexibility to support a production schedule running through midnight.
• First-Year Deliverables: Successfully achieve SQF certification, pass incoming customer audits, and establish standardized QA operating procedures within the first 90 to 180 days.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Core Background: 5+ years in food manufacturing QA/QC leadership; open to a strong Senior Manager ready to step up.
• Industry Experience: Deep USDA processing experience (beef, pork, poultry) + seafood HACCP experience (big plus!)
• Technical Expertise: Proven track record of building food safety programs from scratch and driving SQF certification .
• Leadership Style: Collaborative mentor focused on teaching and team development rather than policing the floor.
• Logistics & Tenure: Stable career history, comfortable with a 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM on-site schedule in Rancho Cucamonga with evening on-call availability.
