QC Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

The Production Quality Control Engineering Staff is responsible for supporting daily production operations and ensuring that manufactured automotive parts and processes meet established quality standards, specifications, and customer requirements.

The position will monitor production processes, conduct quality inspections, identify and analyze quality issues, and coordinate with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and other concerned departments to implement corrective and preventive actions.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in manufacturing operations and quality control, preferably within the automotive industry, with a good understanding of production processes, inspection methods, quality standards, and problem-solving techniques.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Production Quality Control

• Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with approved work instructions, process standards, and quality requirements.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections of automotive parts and components.
• Check product dimensions, appearance, functionality, and other specified quality characteristics.
• Verify that production output meets customer specifications and internal quality standards.
• Monitor critical process parameters and report abnormalities or deviations.
• Ensure proper implementation of quality checkpoints and inspection standards on the production line.
• Support production teams in preventing defects and maintaining consistent product quality.

2. Quality Inspection and Testing

• Perform inspections using appropriate measuring and testing instruments.
• Review inspection results and identify non-conforming products or processes.
• Ensure proper identification, segregation, and disposition of defective or suspect materials/products.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, quality reports, and other required documentation.
• Support the calibration and proper use of measuring and inspection equipment.
• Conduct inspection activities based on control plans, inspection standards, drawings, and specifications.

3. Problem Solving and Corrective Action

• Investigate production and quality issues and assist in determining root causes.
• Participate in problem-solving activities using tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, Pareto Analysis, and other quality improvement methods.
• Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and follow up on recurring quality issues.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and other departments regarding quality concerns.
• Escalate critical or repeated quality problems to the appropriate supervisor or manager.

4. Production Process Support

• Support production activities to ensure efficient and stable manufacturing operations.
• Monitor compliance with standard operating procedures and work instructions.
• Assist in investigating production abnormalities, machine-related issues, and process deviations.
• Coordinate with Production and Engineering teams regarding process improvements.
• Support trials, new product introduction, process changes, and improvement activities.
• Assist in ensuring that process changes are properly documented and controlled.

5. Quality Documentation and Reporting

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports as required.
• Maintain records of inspection results, defects, rejection rates, rework, and other quality indicators.
• Assist in monitoring production and quality KPIs such as:
• Defect Rate
• Rejection Rate
• Rework Rate
• Customer Complaints
• First Pass Yield (FPY)
• Process Capability
• Ensure proper filing and control of quality-related documents and records.
• Prepare reports and presentations regarding quality performance and improvement activities.

6. Continuous Improvement

• Participate in 5S, Kaizen, continuous improvement, and cost-reduction activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve production processes and reduce defects, waste, and rework.
• Support implementation of quality improvement projects.
• Promote quality awareness and compliance among production personnel.
• Assist in developing and improving inspection methods, quality standards, and work procedures.

7. Customer and Audit Support

• Support internal, customer, and third-party quality audits.
• Assist in preparing quality records and documents required during audits.
• Support investigation and response to customer complaints and quality concerns.
• Ensure production and inspection records are properly maintained and readily available.
• Assist in monitoring compliance with applicable automotive quality requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• Preferably with 1–3 years or more of relevant experience in production operations and quality control.
• Experience in an automotive manufacturing company is highly preferred.
• Experience handling automotive parts, components, or manufacturing processes is an advantage.
• Knowledge of production processes, quality inspection, and manufacturing operations.
• Knowledge of basic quality tools and problem-solving techniques.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Familiarity with measuring instruments such as vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, and other inspection equipment.
• Computer literate, particularly in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
• Willing to work in a production/manufacturing environment and follow company safety and quality requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Primarily based in a manufacturing/production environment.
• May require frequent presence on the production floor.
• May be required to work on shifting schedules, overtime, weekends, or holidays depending on production requirements.
• Must comply with company safety procedures and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Pay: Php20,000.00 - Php25,000.00 per month
