QC Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced QC Engineer with hands-on experience in the fabrication, erection, inspection, and testing of storage tanks. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all storage tank construction activities comply with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for quality inspection of storage tank fabrication, erection, welding, and testing activities as per approved drawings, project specifications, and applicable codes such as API 650.
• Inspect incoming materials, verify Material Test Certificates (MTCs), material identification, and traceability.
• Perform fit-up inspection, weld visual inspection, and dimensional checks for bottom plates, shell courses, roof plates, nozzles, and manholes.
• Monitor welding activities and ensure compliance with approved WPS, PQR, and welder qualification records.
• Coordinate with NDT teams for RT, UT, MT, and PT inspections and review the related reports.
• Inspect tank bottom welding, shell erection, roof erection, nozzle installation, and other tank construction activities.
• Verify tank verticality, roundness, plumbness, alignment, and dimensional tolerances as per project requirements.
• Witness vacuum box testing, hydrostatic testing, and other specified leak tests.
• Prepare and maintain inspection reports, checklists, weld maps, ITPs, and quality records.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, third-party inspectors, and construction teams for inspections and approvals.
• Identify quality issues, raise NCRs, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Ensure all inspection activities comply with project quality requirements, approved procedures, and applicable standards.
• Prepare final quality documentation and support preparation of the quality dossier for project handover.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–8 years of relevant experience in storage tank fabrication, erection, and inspection.
• Good working knowledge of API 650 and relevant project codes and specifications.
• Knowledge of welding inspection, NDT methods, material traceability, and dimensional inspection.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, weld maps, and inspection procedures.
• Familiarity with WPS, PQR, welder qualification records, ITPs, and quality documentation.
• Experience coordinating with clients, consultants, and third-party inspection agencies.
• Good communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
