QC Slitter Machine Operator

About the opportunity:

Labelmakers Ltd is seeking a QC Slitter Machine Operator to join our team in Hamilton. This role is responsible for operating slitting and finishing equipment to produce high-quality labels and packaging products while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring finished products meet customer specifications and quality requirements.

We operate on a fortnightly rotating shift roster as follows:

• Day shift: Monday to Friday 6am-2pm
• Afternoon shift: Monday to Thursday 1:45pm-11:45pm

Applicants must be willing and able to work both shifts as part of the rotating roster.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Safe and controlled running of finishing machines.
• Efficient set-up and preparation of tooling, and other raw materials to maximise equipment efficiency.
• Undertake general ad-hoc duties as required, including material handling, stock movement, and assisting other production areas.
• Complete check sheets and required paperwork of quality and compliance.
• Support the team with implementing corrective measures and perform preventive maintenance to ensure continuous machine operation.
• You will contribute to all steps in our production process and practices including, Quality, Safety, Good Manufacturing practice (GMP) housekeeping and Environmental control measures.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience operating slitting, finishing, converting, printing, or similar manufacturing machinery.
• Demonstrated planning and organisational skills.
• Be a team player that can communicate effectively across multiple work groups.
• Able to work autonomously and are self-motivated.
• To have high attention to detail and proud of your work standard – quality focus.
