QC Supervisor

Job purpose:

The Quality Control and Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for the proper functioning of the laboratory in terms of organization, versatility and cost of equipment, consumables and analyses. He/She ensures compliance and traceability of raw/packaging materials, process, WIP, finished products, as well as hygiene in the company.

Job duties and responsibilities:

Sampling and validation of raw/packaging materials, WIP, and finished goods

Inspection and sampling in-coming raw/packaging materials, goods in process and finished products before loading. If any abnormality is observed, inform QA manager for further decision.

Carry out analyzes according to specifications or send them to the external laboratory.

Verified laboratory test results in the computer system before release test result.

Initiate non-conformance report, either with the quality of the product or the reliability of testing procedures, can be identified and addressed.

Coordinate on investigation of non-conformance in-process samples and liaison with production teams for preventive and corrective actions.

Participates in investigations to identify root causes and corrective actions through collaboration with other departments in all quality-related topics.

HACCP

Follow up with implemented programs (GMPs, Good Hygiene Practices, HACCP, Allergen Control, Cleaning and Sanitation, Pest Control, Equipment Calibration, Organic Certification, etc.) to ensure compliance by all employees and other personnel in the manufacturing facility.

Hygiene inspections

Ensure the proper application of the rules established during hygiene audits and the daily plant inspection (walk around).

Traceability

Collect and maintain all relevant documents and make them available in the system.

Food Safety

• Compliance Monitoring: Ensure that all processes and practices comply with food safety regulations and standards, including HACCP, GMP, and other relevant guidelines.
• Preventive Measures: Implement and monitor preventive measures to avoid food safety hazards, ensuring that the production environment meets all food safety requirements.
• Training and Awareness: Educate and train employees on food safety protocols, reinforcing the importance of compliance and safe practices in the workplace.
• Incident Reporting: Report any food safety incidents, potential hazards, or violations immediately to the QA Manager, and assist in the investigation and resolution process.

Safety and Quality Compliance

Standards Adherence: Comply with all quality, safety, and environmental guidelines and standards, as well as the flows and zoning defined within the factory.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear appropriate PPE as required and ensure training is up to date.

Food Safety Compliance: Ensure all production activities adhere to food safety standards.

Reporting Issues: Report any malfunctions, abnormalities, or unsafe situations to the manager immediately.

Knowledge and skills:

• Good computer literature in Microsoft office and have proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Understand the legal and normative requirements applicable to the company.
• Strong on basic knowledge of quality improvement tools and standards.
• An analytical and synthetic distinction.
• Effective communication and reporting

Qualifications needed:

• Bachelor degree of science, preferably in food science or equivalent with experience in a similar position or function.
• Experience in Food Industry at least 5 years.
