QMS Engineer

About the role

IBIDEN Electronics Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled QMS Engineer to join our quality assurance and control team. This is a full-time position based in Bukit Minyak, Penang. As QMS Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development, implementation, and maintenance of our quality management systems. This position is essential to ensuring that our manufacturing and logistics operations meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and operational excellence. You will be responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring that all processes align with international quality standards and customer requirements.

What you'll be doing

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 and other relevant international standards
• Conduct internal audits and manage corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes to address non-conformances
• Monitor and analyse quality metrics, trends, and performance data to identify areas for improvement
• Create and maintain quality documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures
• Collaborate with manufacturing and logistics teams to ensure compliance with quality requirements and customer specifications
• Support supplier quality management and evaluate supplier performance
• Lead root cause analysis activities and implement solutions to prevent recurring issues
• Prepare and maintain quality records and reports for management review and customer audits
• Provide training and guidance to staff on quality procedures and best practices
• Liaise with customers and regulatory bodies regarding quality-related matters and complaints

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in quality assurance and control, preferably within manufacturing or logistics environments
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and other relevant quality management standards
• Proven experience with quality management systems (QMS) software and tools
• Proficiency in data analysis and statistical methods for quality control
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organisation
• Attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving
• Certification in quality management (such as CQE or IRCA) is highly desirable
• Experience with CAPA processes, internal auditing, and management review documentation
• Knowledge of manufacturing or electronics manufacturing processes is advantageous
