QMS Engineer

Key Responsibilities

System Compliance & Audit Management

• Coordinate and execute internal audits against ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and AS9100D requirements to ensure full system compliance.

• Assist in preparing for second-party (customer) and third-party (registrar) audits; track audit findings and closure status.

• Maintain the audit schedule, draft comprehensive audit reports, and evaluate process efficiency.

Document Control & CAPA Management

• Administer the document control process (SOPs, Work Instructions, Process Maps, Quality Manuals) to ensure proper revision, approval, and distribution.

• Facilitate Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) requests using 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone root-cause analysis methods.

• Track non-conformances (NCRs), monitor corrective action effectiveness, and verify timely implementation.

Core Tools & Process Support

• Support APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) activities and PPAP/FAI (First Article Inspection) documentation processes under IATF and AS9100D guidelines (e.g., AS9102).

• Assist cross-functional teams with Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and Control Plans.

• Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality system effectiveness (e.g., audit completion rate, CAPA turn-around time, customer complaints).

Continuous Improvement

• Participate in continual improvement initiatives (Kaizen, Lean) to streamline quality processes and reduce process variation.

• Conduct QMS awareness training and onboarding for employees to foster a strong quality culture.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, Automotive, or Quality Engineering (or related technical field).

• Experience: 2 to 3 years of direct QMS experience in a manufacturing environment compliant with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and/or AS9100D.

• Standards Knowledge: Solid understanding of ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016, and AS9100 Rev D clause requirements.

• Quality Tools: Working knowledge of Quality Core Tools (APQP, PPAP/FAI, FMEA, MSA, SPC) and Root Cause Analysis methodologies (8D, 5-Why).

• Certifications: ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 / AS9100D Internal Auditor Certification is strongly preferred.

• Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving, report-writing, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Software: Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); exposure to QMS software (e.g., MasterControl, ETQ, arena) or ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
