QMS (Quality Management System) Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced QMS Engineer to lead and coordinate the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS) activities in compliance with international standards and customer requirements. The incumbent will play a key role in driving the company toward successful certification, maintenance, and continuous improvement of systems such as IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, QS9000, and other related standards.

This position requires close coordination with cross-functional departments to ensure all operational processes, documentation, and practices comply with quality, environmental, customer, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Quality & Environmental Management System Coordination

• Lead, coordinate, and manage the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS).
• Drive the company’s certification initiatives for standards such as IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, QS9000, and other customer-specific or regulatory standards.
• Act as the main coordinator and liaison with certification bodies, external auditors, customers, consultants, and government authorities regarding certification and compliance matters.
• Ensure all departments comply with the requirements of quality, environmental, and customer management systems.
• Monitor system effectiveness and recommend improvement actions to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.

Documentation & System Control

• Develop, review, update, and maintain quality and environmental system documentation, including:

  • Quality Manual
  • Environmental Manual
  • SOPs / Procedures
  • Work Instructions
  • Process Flow Charts
  • Forms and Records
  • Control Plans
  • Risk Assessments
  • Policies and Objectives

• Establish and maintain document control systems to ensure proper version control, approval, distribution, and retention of documents and records.

• Ensure all documentation complies with certification requirements and customer standards.

Audit Management

• Plan, coordinate, and conduct internal audits, process audits, product audits, and system audits according to audit schedules.
• Prepare departments for external certification audits, customer audits, and surveillance audits.
• Coordinate audit activities and ensure timely closure of audit findings, non-conformities, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
• Analyze audit findings and work closely with departments to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
• Monitor effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence.

Continuous Improvement & Quality Assurance

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve product quality, process efficiency, environmental performance, and operational effectiveness.

• Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving activities using methodologies such as:

  • 8D
  • FMEA
  • SPC
  • MSA
  • Fishbone Diagram
  • 5 Why Analysis
  • PDCA
  • Kaizen

• Monitor quality objectives, KPI performance, and environmental targets to ensure achievement of company goals.

• Support risk management activities and ensure mitigation plans are effectively implemented.

Compliance & Regulatory Requirements

• Ensure company compliance with applicable legal, environmental, safety, and customer requirements.
• Monitor updates and changes to international standards and regulatory requirements and coordinate implementation within the organization.
• Support environmental compliance activities including waste management, environmental monitoring, and sustainability initiatives where applicable.
• Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements and industry best practices.

Training & Employee Awareness

• Conduct training and awareness programs related to QMS, EMS, quality standards, audit requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Promote quality and environmental awareness culture throughout the organization.
• Provide guidance and support to departments regarding system implementation and compliance requirements.

Cross Functional Coordination

• Work closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Purchasing, Warehouse, HR, EHS, and other departments to ensure effective implementation of management systems.
• Support new product introduction (NPI), process transfer, engineering changes, and operational improvements from QMS/EMS perspectives.

Participate in management review meetings and prepare reports related to audit status, KPI performance, system effectiveness, and improvement activities.
