QS Civil Engineer

Qualifications:

• Must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Must have at least 2-5 years’ work of experience
• Knowledge of basic construction methods and knows how to read construction plans.
• Must have knowledge in using AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word

Duties and responsibilities:

• Inspect facilities and analyze operational data
• Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards
• Determine and present estimates of operational costs
• Evaluate operations and processes & overseeing the selection and requisition of materials
• Implement improvements to designs and processes
• Compile and present reports explaining project details to non-technical stakeholders
• Monitor project progress, compliance with design specifications and safety standards
• Create work schedules and adjust as needed to meet project deadlines
• Maintain detailed documentation of all site engineering activities
• Collaborate with management to align activities with desired business outcomes
• Check plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations
• Manage, monitor and interpret the contract design documents supplied by the client or architect
• Liaise with the local authority (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws
• Carry out day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labor force and the work of any subcontractors - this is site-specific and may not be the case on all projects
• Prepare reports as required
• Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.

Working Schedule: Monday to Saturday - 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
