About the role

This role involves conducting regular audits of cold storage facilities to evaluate compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies. You will inspect temperature monitoring systems, equipment, and storage units to verify proper functioning and accuracy of temperature controls, and review records, logs, and inventory reports to identify deviations, discrepancies, or potential risks.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular audits of cold storage facilities to evaluate compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies
• Inspect temperature monitoring systems, equipment, and storage units to verify proper functioning and accuracy of temperature controls
• Review and analyze records, logs, and inventory reports to identify any deviations, discrepancies, or potential risks
• Assess cold storage facility procedures, including receiving, storage, handling, and shipping practices, to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and best practices
• Identify areas for improvement in cold storage processes and provide recommendations to enhance operational efficiency, product quality, and risk mitigation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address audit findings and implement corrective actions
• Train cold storage facility staff on proper handling techniques, temperature monitoring protocols, and sanitation practices to maintain product integrity and minimize quality risks

About you

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or any related field
• Proven experience as an auditor or in a similar role within the warehousing industry
• In-depth knowledge of cold storage operations, including temperature control, sanitation practices, pest control, and warehouse management systems
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to review and interpret data from various sources
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure thorough audits and accurate documentation
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and present audit findings and recommendations
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities while adhering to deadlines
• Strong understanding and implementation of safety procedures, product safety, quality and legality issues
• Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office, WMS, TMS)
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and standards such as Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is preferred
