Qualified Carpenter — Timaru, South Canterbury

Shore Construction has been family owned and operated for over 30 years. We're known for high quality workmanship, integrity and a team culture that actually backs each other up. Many of our foremen started out right here as apprentices or qualified carpenters, so if you're after a career and not just a job, this is a good place to build one.

We work throughout South Canterbury on bespoke new homes, detailed renovations and commercial design and build projects. Right now we've got a strong lineup of exciting architectural projects underway, with more due to kick off over the coming months and into the new year. It's a great time to join, with plenty of quality work ahead and most of it close to home rather than travelling. We do take on the occasional project further afield but local work is where the bulk of our current pipeline sits.

We're looking for a skilled Qualified Carpenter to join our South Canterbury (Timaru) team. The work is varied and rewarding and we're committed to doing it properly, both for our clients and for our crew.

What you'll do

• Complete a range of construction tasks to a consistently high standard
• Interpret and work from building plans, drawings and layouts
• Support apprentices and junior team members
• Maintain a safe and tidy site, with a strong focus on health and safety

What we're looking for

• A positive, team focused attitude
• Strong communication and listening skills
• Excellent attention to detail and a passion for quality work
• A professional and respectful approach

What you'll bring

• NZ Certificate in Carpentry (or equivalent qualification)
• At least 4 years of industry experience
• A full New Zealand driver licence
• Existing right to work in New Zealand — we're unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role

Pay: Hourly rate based on experience. We pay well for the right people.
