Wilson Building Timaru is a locally owned building company specialising in high-quality, architecturally designed homes, renovations and commercial projects throughout South Canterbury.

With exciting projects ahead, we are looking for a Qualified Carpenter to join our team.

Our work is varied and rewarding, with the majority of our projects based locally. We value quality workmanship, attention to detail and a team environment where everyone plays their part.

The Role

As a Qualified Carpenter, you will work alongside our experienced team to deliver projects to a high standard, from start to finish.

Your responsibilities will include:

·        Completing carpentry and construction work to a high standard

·        Reading and working from building plans and architectural drawings

·        Working efficiently as part of a team

·        Supporting and mentoring apprentices and junior team members

·        Maintaining a safe, tidy and well-organised worksite

·        Taking pride in the quality and finish of your work

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

·        Takes pride in their workmanship and has a strong eye for detail

·        Has sound carpentry knowledge and practical skills

·        Is reliable, organised and works well as part of a team

·        Has a positive attitude and strong communication skills

·        Takes a professional and respectful approach with clients and colleagues

What You'll Bring

·        NZ Certificate in Carpentry (or equivalent qualification)

·        Relevant experience in the building industry

·        Full New Zealand driver's licence

·        Existing right to work in New Zealand – we are unable to offer visa sponsorship

What we offer: Quality projects, predominantly local work, a supportive team environment and a competitive hourly rate based on experience.

Pay: Hourly rate based on experience.  We pay well for the right people
