What they need

**We are unable to offer sponsorship**

The Bees Knees Nursery is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic early years professional to join our team as we expand our nursery. We took over The Bees Knees Nursery in May of last year after deciding to expand from our original nursery, Outdoor Nursery Edinburgh. This is an exciting time for us as we grow, and we are looking for someone who shares our passion for outdoor learning and child development.

We are a 19 place setting, well established in Currie with excellent indoor and outdoor facilities, including access to local parks and walks, where children experience the full benefits of outdoor and indoor learning. Our mission is to inspire young minds through nature, helping them develop essential life skills.

This is a great opportunity to join a friendly and ambitious team, highly valued by a dedicated and experienced management team. The role offers regular training and support to promote both professional and personal growth. A passion for the outdoors and the benefits of learning in nature is essential.

We are looking for someone who is looking for a part time role ranging from 10-30 hours per week, we are unable to give static work days.

Requirements:

  • Experience in an early years setting (nursery or school-based).
  • A relevant qualification that satisfies the SSSC (SVQ Level 3 or 4, HNC, GTC registration, or equivalent)
  • A positive outlook and a collaborative team spirit.
  • Ability to support the individual needs of children, indoors and outdoors, while fostering their learning.
  • Commitment to meeting standards set by the Care Inspectorate and Scottish Government.
  • Ability to follow the curriculum and manage required paperwork.

Benefits include:

  • Work-life balance: Full time staff enjoy a 4-day workweek (7:30 am - 5:30 pm), Monday to Friday on a rotating basis.
  • Holiday closure: Closed over Christmas and New Year to allow more time with loved ones.
  • Uniform provided: Simplifying your daily routine.
  • Free parking: Convenient nearby parking.
  • Complimentary refreshments: Free teas, coffees, and biscuits during breaks.
  • Free hygiene products: Feminine and hygiene essentials provided.
  • Professional development: Paid contributions toward further training and personal development in childcare and early years education.
  • Staff appreciation: Gifts throughout the year, including Easter, Christmas, and other celebrations.
  • Christmas night out: Fully paid, ensuring a fun and relaxing team event.
  • No overtime expectations: A commitment to respecting work hours.
  • Supportive management: A dedicated and experienced team to mentor and guide you in your professional journey.
  • Childcare discount: Employees can benefit from up to 50% off childcare fees.

The role is available as soon as the right candidate is found and relevant checks have been carried out. The position offers flexible hours, Monday to Friday on a rota basis, with potential for adjustment to suit the right person.

Salary: £13.50 - £14.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

All offers are subject to a successful PVG and reference and right to work check
