About The Opportunity Are you organised, good with people and interested in developing a career in administration?

This is a great opportunity to start your career in a professional office environment while gaining valuable experience and working towards a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship.

As a Business Administration Apprentice at City of Bristol College, you will support Heads of Department and the wider team, helping to keep important processes organised and running smoothly.

You will work with different people across the College, help coordinate events and visits, keep information and records up to date and learn how a busy education organisation operates behind the scenes.

What will you be doing? You will develop a broad range of administration, communication and organisational skills.

Your Role Will Include

  • Helping to record and track responses to complaints, making sure information is kept up to date
  • Monitoring reports and action plans from awarding bodies and external verifiers
  • Helping to coordinate visits from external partners
  • Supporting College-wide student events, including enrichment and employability weeks, induction events and student graduation
  • Producing and updating reports relating to complaints, quality and compliance
  • Keeping records and information organised and accurate
  • Using Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook
  • Communicating with colleagues and other people across the College
  • Supporting the wider team with day-to-day administration
  • Learning about College processes, quality requirements and awarding body regulations
  • Completing your apprenticeship training and applying what you learn within your role

What are we looking for? You do not need to have worked in an office before. We are much more interested in finding someone with the right attitude and the potential to develop.

You Could Be a Great Fit If

  • You enjoy being organised and keeping track of things
  • You pay attention to detail and like getting things right
  • You are comfortable communicating with different people
  • You are friendly, helpful and approachable
  • You enjoy working as part of a team
  • You can also get on with tasks independently when needed
  • You are willing to learn and try new things
  • You are comfortable using computers and keen to develop your IT skills
  • You can manage different tasks and priorities
  • You are interested in working within an education environment

You might already use Word, Excel or Outlook at school, college, work or at home, but you do not need to be an expert.

What will you gain? This apprenticeship will give you the chance to build real workplace experience alongside a recognised qualification.

You Will

  • Work towards a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship
  • Gain practical experience in a professional administration role
  • Build confidence using Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook
  • Develop your communication and customer service skills
  • Learn how to organise information, reports, events and activities
  • Gain an understanding of quality and compliance processes

  • Develop valuable transferable skills for your future career

Why City of Bristol College? You will be joining a supportive and inclusive working environment where learning and development are valued.
