What they need

About Somerville Community Services

Somerville is a for-purpose, community-based organisation that has supported Territorians for over 60 years. We specialise in high-quality disability services that empower people to live the life they choose. As a registered NDIS provider, we deliver individualised support across the Northern Territory, with a focus on respectful, person-centred relationships that promote choice, dignity, and independence.

About the role

We're looking for an organised and detail-oriented Quality and Compliance Officer to support Somerville's quality, safeguarding and continuous improvement functions.

Working as part of the Quality and Practice team, you'll play an important role in helping the organisation meet its compliance obligations and maintain high standards of service delivery.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with systems and processes, has excellent attention to detail, and takes pride in ensuring things are completed accurately and on time.

What you’ll be doing

In this role you’ll:

  • Coordinate and monitor reporting requirements relating to incidents, complaints, audits and restrictive practices
  • Support NDIS reportable incident and behaviour support reporting processes
  • Maintain quality, compliance and safeguarding registers and tracking systems
  • Monitor outstanding actions, reviews and compliance requirements, following up as required
  • Assist with preparing reports, dashboards, audit documentation and meeting materials
  • Provide secretariat support for committees and working groups, including agendas, minutes and action tracking
  • Support quality improvement and compliance initiatives across the organisation
  • Work collaboratively with operational teams to support consistent and compliant service delivery

What you’ll bring

To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

  • Experience in administration, coordination or customer support, with the ability to accurately follow processes and procedures
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when maintaining records, tracking information and preparing documentation
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and confidence using digital systems and platforms
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information
  • Demonstrated reliability, initiative and a willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Current (or ability to obtain) Ochre Card, Criminal History Check, NDIS Worker Screening, NT Driver’s Licence, and influenza vaccination

Experience working within the disability, community services or not-for-profit sector, including knowledge of the NDIS environment and safeguarding requirements, will be highly regarded.

  • Supportive leadership and a collaborative team environment
  • A genuine focus on wellbeing, inclusion, and work-life balance
