Quality and Gear Design Engineer/Technician

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality and Gear Design Engineer/Technician to join our engineering team. This unique role bridges precision quality inspection with advanced mechanical design. You will be responsible for the quality assurance of complex gear systems using CMM programming, while actively contributing to gear design, optimization, and drafting.

Given our close collaboration with global manufacturing partners and suppliers, fluency in both English and Chinese (Mandarin) is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities

• CMM Inspection: Program, set up, and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to inspect high-precision gears and complex mechanical components.
• Gear Design & Simulation: Utilize KISSsoft (and/or KISSsys) to design, size, and optimize gearboxes, gear geometry, and drive elements.
• CAD Modelling: Create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using engineering CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or NX).
• Cross-Border Communication: Act as a technical liaison with Chinese-speaking suppliers, factories, or engineering teams to resolve manufacturing, quality, or design issues.
• Quality Analysis: Interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) blueprints and analyze CMM measurement reports to troubleshoot deviations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Technical Experience: Proven track record as a CMM Operator/Programmer, specifically working with gears or powertrain components.
• Software Proficiency: Advanced, hands-on experience with KISSsoft gear design software and professional CAD software.
• Language Skills: Native or professional fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) and English. Must be able to confidently discuss highly technical engineering concepts in both languages.
• Expertise: Deep understanding of gear geometry, failure analysis, and international gear standards (ISO/AGMA).

Pay: $80,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
