The Opportunity

Are you an experienced Senior Manager or technically strong Manager within accountancy practice who enjoys developing people, improving standards and solving complex accounting challenges?

We're working with an ambitious and growing accountancy and advisory firm looking to appoint a Quality & Technical Senior Manager within its Business Advisory Services (BAS) division.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to move beyond traditional client portfolio management and take a leading role in shaping technical quality, developing colleagues and improving processes across a growing department.

You'll work closely with senior leadership, providing technical guidance and helping to build a culture where quality is embedded from the outset.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading risk-based technical reviews of accounts and client files, ensuring consistently high standards.
• Identifying technical, accounting, tax and regulatory risks and providing practical solutions.
• Developing and managing structured quality assurance and file review programmes.
• Supporting Managers and senior colleagues with complex technical accounting queries.
• Identifying recurring issues and implementing improvements to prevent future errors.
• Designing and delivering technical training, coaching and development initiatives.
• Working closely with senior leadership to strengthen processes, improve efficiency and develop technical capability.
• Helping shape the future quality framework and operating model of the Business Advisory Services team.

What We're Looking For

We're particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have:

• ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent professional qualifications.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge gained within an accountancy practice.
• Significant experience in accounts preparation, technical review and quality assurance.
• Experience reviewing the work of others and identifying technical or compliance risks.
• The confidence to advise and challenge colleagues at all levels, including senior management.
• Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with a genuine interest in developing people.
• A practical, commercially minded approach to technical problem-solving.
• An interest in improving processes, introducing efficiencies and driving consistent standards.

You may currently be working as a Senior Manager, Technical Manager, Quality Assurance Manager or an experienced Accounts Manager looking for a more technically focused leadership opportunity.
