Job Description: Quality Assurance Engineer

We are seeking a proactive, quality-focused QA Engineer to join our engineering organization. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the high quality and reliability of our applications through automated testing, early shift-left involvement, and strong cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

1. Automation & Test Engineering (Primary Focus)

• Build, maintain, and scale automated UI, API, and data test suites using Playwright, Python, and Java
• Write and execute SQL validation scripts against Snowflake to verify data accuracy, ETL pipeline integrity, and transformation logic
• Develop test utilities, helper libraries, and reusable automation components in Python and Java using VS Code
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions
• Use GitHub Copilot and AI agents to accelerate test code generation, triage flaky tests, and streamline QA workflows

2. Quality Assurance & Test Design

• Design risk-based test cases and execute complex regression, integration, and data validation scenarios across environments
• Translate requirements into test plans, identify defects early, and document issues with clear reproduction steps

3. Shift-Left & Full Stack Collaboration

• Engage in sprint planning and design reviews to assess testability and surface quality risks early
• Apply full stack awareness front-end through back-end — to ensure end-to-end coverage across the entire application

4. Process & Metrics

• Track and report test results, quality metrics, and pipeline health
• Continuously improve test coverage, reduce flakiness, and uphold automation-first standards

Communication

Clear stakeholder communication: Communicates clearly, concisely, and confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Explains quality risks, testing constraints, and trade-offs in a way that supports informed decision-making. Provides more than status updates by adding context, recommendations, and clear next steps.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on experience building and maintaining automated test suites for UI and API layers.
• Demonstrated use of GitHub for source control, pull request workflows, and CI/CD pipeline triggers via GitHub Actions.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps for managing pipelines, work items, and build automation.
• Working proficiency in Python and Java for writing test utilities, helper libraries, and automation scripts.
• Practical experience using AI agents or Copilot tools (GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot) within a development or test engineering workflow.
• Familiarity with full stack application architecture — understanding both client-side and server-side components to design comprehensive coverage.
• Comfort developing in VS Code using Python and Java extensions, debugging tools, and integrated terminal workflows.
• Proven experience querying and validating backend data in cloud data warehouses like Snowflake alongside relational databases using complex SQL
