What they need
Valmore Technologies is a young, ambitious, and flexible team that develops web applications in direct collaboration with an affluent American company, specializing in food safety data analytics. We are constantly looking for partners that love computer science and web technologies, with whom we will be able to grow together.
What you'll do:
- Work with Product Owners and developers to understand requirements and turn them into test plans and test cases
- Test Qt applications and embedded firmware on Linux devices, manually and with automated tests
- Write and maintain test scripts and tools, mainly in Python, and in C# or C++ where needed
- Run integration, regression and release testing, and verify fixes
- Report defects clearly, with the steps, logs and evidence needed to reproduce them
- Follow and help improve our Azure DevOps procedures: work items, test plans, pipelines and release checks
- Suggest improvements to our QA process and test coverage
About you:
- You are a self-starter and self-directed. You take on tasks and see them through without needing someone over your shoulder.
- You are a problem solver. You don't just report a problem or come back with questions. You analyse the situation, consider the alternatives and come up with suggestions.
- You have an eye for detail. You notice what others miss, and you record it so clearly that anyone can reproduce it.
- You mean business. Any task you take responsibility for, you own and deliver.
- You are a team player. The work of others is not only their concern, just as your work is not only yours.
- You love computer science and you like to learn new things. A good day at work is a day when you made something that until then you didn't know how to do, or even that it was possible.
- You communicate in a timely manner. You discuss issues with your teammates to find solutions. If you have concerns, you raise them as early as possible.
- You are willing, polite, and smile as often as possible. And you expect the same from the people around you.
Required experience/skills:
- At least 3 years of experience in software quality assurance or testing, ideally on embedded or device software
- Basic knowledge of Qt applications
- Basic knowledge of Linux (command line, logs, basic debugging)
- Basic understanding of embedded firmware
- Basic knowledge of C++, Python and C#
- Git
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps procedures (boards, test plans, pipelines)
- Completed military service (male candidates)
- Excellent knowledge of English and Greek languages
Nice-to-have experience/skills:
- Test automation frameworks (for example pytest, or Squish for Qt)
- ISTQB or a similar testing certification
- Hardware interfaces (UART, I2C, SPI)
What we offer:
- An opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies, in an international, multicultural environment, alongside high-caliber IT professionals from the US and Greece, on the latest web technologies with contemporary tools
- Competitive salary with full social security
- Remote-first: work from home with flexible hours
- Continuous training and professional development
- A friendly, supportive team
