Your Role:

Our agile product organization is evolving through exciting transformations including scaling teams, designing new systems, modernizing legacy platforms and leveraging cutting-edge technologies.

We’re looking for a QA Engineer who will:

• Design, maintain and execute test plans and test cases for payment flows across backend services and web applications.
• Test primarily at API and service level, and use UI automation where it earns its place.
• Build and extend automated test suites, and integrate them into CI pipelines.
• Run non-functional tests, load, performance and resilience, and interpret the results against production baselines.
• Investigate failures using application logs, database queries and message queues before reporting, and produce defect reports that are reproducible without a conversation.
• Work with Product and Engineering from the requirement stage so that risks surface before development, not after.
• Contribute to QA standards, test data management and process improvement across the team.

Your qualifications:

• 5+ years of QA experience, including hands-on test automation.
• Automation experience in at least one language (Java, C#, Python or JavaScript) with a recognised framework (Selenium, Playwright, Appium or Cucumber).
• Strong API testing skills (Postman, REST): you can build requests, validate payloads and status codes, and work without a UI.
• SQL: able to query relational databases and verify data independently of the application.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD and experience running automated tests in a pipeline (GitLab CI, Jenkins or similar).
• Experience with defect and test management tools (Jira, and a dedicated test management system).
• Experience in Agile/Scrum teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with payments, fintech or another regulated domain.
• Performance and load testing (JMeter, k6, Gatling) and comfort reading APM or log platforms (Grafana, Instana, OpenSearch).
• Message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka) and containerised environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• BDD / Gherkin.
• Experience with POS hardware, e-invoice or fiscal device certification.
