Quality Assurance Intern

About the role

Petaling Jaya Dairy Sdn Bhd is seeking a Quality Assurance Intern to join our Quality Assurance & Control team. This is a contract position based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, offering an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in quality assurance within the dairy and food science industry. As a Quality Assurance Intern, you will support our quality assurance team in ensuring that all products meet stringent safety, quality and regulatory standards. This role is integral to maintaining our commitment to product excellence and consumer safety.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting in the inspection and testing of raw materials, work-in-progress and finished dairy products
• Conducting routine quality checks and documenting results in accordance with established protocols and standard operating procedures
• Supporting the preparation and maintenance of quality assurance records and reports
• Observing and assisting with laboratory testing and analysis activities under supervision
• Contributing to the identification and documentation of non-conformances and deviations
• Assisting in the organisation and management of quality assurance documentation and filing systems
• Supporting compliance audits and quality improvement initiatives
• Liaising with production and other departments to communicate quality-related information and concerns

What we're looking for

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Technology or a related scientific discipline
• Basic understanding of quality assurance principles, food safety standards and regulatory requirements
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in testing and documentation
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, in English
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and follow instructions carefully
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and basic analytical techniques (preferred)
• Knowledge of food safety standards such as HACCP or ISO 22000 (advantageous)
