Quality Assurance Lead - Day Shift

The facility Quality Assurance Lead will support and maintain plant food safety and product quality functions to assist in ensuring all products produced in a manner that is wholesome and safe, adhere to regulatory standards, and meet the highest standards of quality in the product category. The facility Quality Assurance Lead is expected to monitor or participate in the following: critical material/asset handling and storage, monitor the segments of the production facility to ensure compliance with good manufacturing, sanitation and product quality practices, food safety training of new and existing production employees, and monitor finished product to help drive continuous improvement.

QA/QC Program Development and Implementation

• Partner with the Food Safety Quality Team to collaboratively develop, implement, maintain and improve Food Safety and Quality programs across the facility fostering a collaborative approach to achieving compliance and excellence.
• Actively Engage with supervisors, managers, and department leaders, fostering open and timely communication to:
  • Identify, evaluate, and resolve plant product safety and quality issues effectively.
  • Maintain and audit robust plant/sanitation programs through collective efforts.
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections and swab collection and analysis to ensure proper equipment and plant sanitation.
  • Maintain an effective environmental monitoring program (EMP) with input and cooperation from team members.
  • Assist with root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) for product contamination events and negative customer feedback.
  • Assist in the creation, review, and revision of SOPs, SSOPs, and food safety documentation.
• Coordinate special projects, such as studies affecting food safety, product quality trials, and process improvements, by working closely with relevant teams to ensure successful outcomes.
• Coordinate Product Quality Evaluations with contributions and insights from cross-functional partners.
• Contribute to special projects, such as studies affecting food safety, product quality trials, and process improvements, working closely with relevant stakeholders for successful outcomes.
• Maintain HACCP/ Food Safety program documentation as a PCQI
• Support new and current employees training by fostering a shared understanding of food safety & quality standards.

Audit/ Inspection

• Participate in and support the Quality Assurance Team in regulatory inspections and/or customer audits, including routine regulatory sampling of products and water supplies.
• Assist in the investigation and resolution of product contamination events.
• Assist with the investigation and resolution of customer complaints.

Food Safety and Quality Training

• Review the following topics with new and current employees:
• • HACCP principles
  • GMP principles
  • Food Safety and Quality SOP’s and Gluten-Free principles (if applicable)
• Collaborating with department leads to drive a culture of food safety and quality ownership.

Other Responsibilities
