What you'll be doing?   

• Strategic QA Leadership: Lead the Quality Assurance function at a strategic level, aligning QA objectives with broader business goals and regulatory requirements.
• QA/QC Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day Quality Assurance and Quality Control operations, ensuring consistent product quality and adherence to product specifications.
• Laboratory Accreditation Compliance: Lead the organisation's compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, ensuring laboratory operations meet the highest standards for accuracy, reliability, and audit readiness.
• Food Safety Certification Management: Champion compliance with all applicable food safety certifications and regulatory standards — including FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP, Halal, and Veterinary Health Mark — to uphold product safety and customer satisfaction.
• Third-Party Audit Management: Manage the full lifecycle of third-party audits from preparation and coordination through to timely closure of findings, ensuring continuous certification validity.
• Regulatory Liaison: Serve as the organisation's primary point of contact with regulatory authorities for inspections, audits, and approvals, fostering positive and proactive relationships.
• Regulatory Compliance Frameworks: Develop, implement, and continuously improve food regulatory compliance frameworks in line with both local and international requirements.
• Supplier Quality Management: Build and maintain robust supplier quality management processes, including supplier qualification, evaluation, and approval, to ensure all incoming materials meet food safety and quality standards.

Who are they looking for?   

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline forms a strong foundation for this role.
• Industry Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in the food industry and/or FMCG manufacturing environment is required — candidates who have built their careers across diverse quality functions are especially encouraged to apply.
• Language Proficiency: Proficiency in both English and Bahasa Malaysia is required, as the role involves communication with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders across Malaysia, including regulatory bodies and certification authorities.
• QA/QC Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of QA/QC disciplines in food processing and/or FMCG manufacturing, covering legislative standards such as GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000, and ISO frameworks.
• Regulatory & Standards Awareness: Working knowledge of applicable laws and industry standards, with the ability to translate requirements into practical, documented processes.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Innovative and critical thinking, paired with strong data analysis and problem-solving capabilities, to anticipate and address quality challenges proactively.
• Communication & Collaboration: A confident communicator who works effectively with cross-functional teams, embraces change with a positive outlook, and nurtures productive working relationships across the organisation.
• Audit Expertise: Experience in auditing against FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, or other GFSI-recognised certification programmes, including supplier audits, would be a distinct advantage.
• Digital & Technological Literacy: Comfort with working in a fully digital environment, including the ability to assess, acquire, and communicate information using modern tools — knowledge of SAP and TQM would be an added advantage.
• Leadership Capability: Demonstrated experience in a leadership capacity, with the ability to coach, inspire, and build strong workplace connections across teams.
• Conflict & Decision Management: Capable of managing conflict constructively and navigating complex decision-making processes to optimise outcomes for the team and the business.
