Quality Assurance Supervisor II

Location: Niles, IL

Schedule: 1st Shift, approximately 7:00/7:30 AM–4:00 PM

Salary: $75,000–$85,000 annually

A growing manufacturer in the printing, packaging, and specialty products industry is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor II to oversee quality systems and manufacturing inspection activities. This role combines ownership of ISO 9001 processes with hands-on production floor leadership and offers the potential to advance into a Quality Manager position within the next 1–2 years.

The supervisor will support approximately 12 quality inspectors across three shifts while working a first-shift schedule. Approximately 60% of the role involves quality systems and documentation , with the remaining 40% spent on the manufacturing floor .

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, including document control, controlled procedures, and revisions.
• Lead internal, customer, and supplier corrective actions, including CAPAs and SCAPAs, from investigation through completion.
• Conduct and support internal audits, document findings, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Develop and oversee setup, incoming, in-process, and final inspection plans.
• Monitor visual inspections, defect identification, and nonconforming product controls.
• Work with production supervisors to ensure required quality checks are completed consistently.
• Supervise quality inspectors, including scheduling, staffing coverage, training, qualifications, and performance management.
• Analyze quality trends, prepare reports, and identify opportunities to reduce recurring defects and process inconsistencies.
• Partner with Quality and Operations leadership to resolve concerns and support continuous improvement across existing and expanding operations.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in an ISO 9001-certified environment .
• At least 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience , with 3+ years preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 standards, Quality Management Systems, corrective actions, and nonconforming product controls.
• Experience with document control, internal audits, and corrective action follow-up.
• Manufacturing inspection experience, particularly in visual inspection environments.
• Experience leading quality inspectors or other manufacturing personnel.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, and familiarity with databases or electronic quality systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree, technical education, or quality-related training preferred.
• Ideally, 5+ years of overall quality assurance or related experience.

Preferred Experience

• Printing, packaging, converting, fulfillment, or assembly operations.
• QT9 or another electronic QMS platform.
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience or certification.
• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
