QUALITY CONTROL ASSISTANT MANAGER

Our client is a leading multinational tobacco manufacturer based in East Java, with a strong global presence and an established reputation in international markets. Due to continued business growth and organizational development, the company is seeking a highly qualified professional to join as Quality Control Assistant Manager. ROLE OVERVIEW

The Quality Control Assistant Manager will support the planning, execution, and control of quality control and process control activities, ensuring compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) standards and driving continuous improvement across quality processes. This role requires an analytical, data-driven leader capable of managing quality teams and maintaining objectivity and integrity in all quality decisions.   

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead, coach, and develop the Quality Control team to achieve quality and process control targets.
• Plan quality control and quality assurance activities across the production process.
• Establish and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with applicable standards.
• Implement Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities across the production process.
• Apply Process Control and Quality Improvement methodologies to drive product and process consistency.
• Oversee measuring equipment calibration and quality document control.
• Monitor quality performance through relevant KPIs and quality data.
• Analyze quality data and prepare management reports using KPIs, CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions), and Root Cause Analysis.
• Lead problem-solving efforts and coordinate cross-functionally with related departments to resolve quality issues.
• Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives to strengthen quality performance.
• Maintain firmness, discipline, and high integrity while working independently and objectively.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Bachelor's degree (S1) in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Food Technology, Quality Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or Process Control, including at least 3 years in a Supervisor, Senior Supervisor, or Managerial position.
• Experience in the tobacco, cigar, or manufacturing industry is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Process Control, Quality Improvement, KPI, CAPA, Root Cause Analysis, and Continuous Improvement.
• Experience in measuring equipment calibration and quality document control, with the ability to analyze data and prepare management reports.
• Strong leadership, analytical and data-driven thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and objectively.
• Excellent cross-functional communication skills, with strong integrity, discipline, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken, for communication with Quality Control teams in Indonesia and Europe.
