Job Summary
The Quality Control Specialist maximizes vehicle cleaning efficiency and protects vehicle cleanliness and readiness standards. The QCS inspects returned vehicles at the check-in and return lanes to identify candidates for an expedited "quick flip" cleaning. By intercepting vehicles that do not require a full-service cleaning, this role reduces turnaround times, accelerates fleet readiness, and helps deliver a clean, safe, and reliable product to every customer. When quick-flip demand is low, the QCS shifts to quality assurance auditing on the Readyline. This role requires sharp attention to detail, efficiency, a commitment to safety, and the flexibility to adapt to changing operational needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Quick Flip Evaluation and Processing
o Evaluate returned vehicles against quick-flip eligibility standards. To qualify, a vehicle must have a full fuel tank, a clean exterior free of dirt and grille bugs, and a minimally soiled interior (fewer than 5 pieces of trash, spot-vacuuming only, and interior-only window cleaning).
o Perform expedited cleaning on qualifying vehicles, including trash removal, interior window cleaning, dashboard and center console sanitization, and targeted spot-vacuuming.
o Sanitize high-touch surfaces, including steering wheel, gear shift, door handles, seat belt buckles, and touchscreen controls.
o Identify and route vehicles requiring full-service cleaning due to odors, smoke, pet hair, stains, spills, or biohazards.
o Stage completed quick-flip vehicles in the designated car-class parking spaces and activate hazard lights to signal the vehicle is ready to be Rovered into the Readyline.
- Vehicle Condition and Safety Checks
o Perform walk-around inspections for new or unreported damage, including dents, scratches, windshield chips, and tire or wheel damage, and report findings according to damage reporting procedures.
o Check for dashboard warning lights, low tire pressure, and fluid leaks, and flag any vehicle with a potential mechanical or safety concern for maintenance before it reaches the Readyline.
o Verify fuel level, and for electric vehicles, charge level, against company readiness standards.
o Confirm required items are present and in place, such as license plates, registration, toll devices, and any company-required documentation.
- Lost and Found
o Check all vehicle areas, including glove box, door pockets, seat pockets, under seats, and trunk, for customer belongings.
o Log and turn in any items found according to lost and found procedures, handling personal and sensitive items with confidentiality.
- Readyline Quality Assurance
o Conduct quality control audits on staged, rent-ready vehicles when quick-flip demand is low.
o Verify that center consoles are clean, windows are free of smudges and film, keys are placed on the dashboard, and no debris remains under seats or in the trunk.
o Confirm vehicles are staged in the correct car-class spaces and match system status.
o Immediately report any vehicle with low fuel, damage, or a major cleanliness failure to a supervisor for re-cleaning, repair, and system logging.
o Track and communicate recurring quality issues to supervisors to support process improvement and team coaching.
- Operational Support (Floater Duties)
o Support the broader Lot Operations team based on real-time business demand.
o Organize and move vehicles, Rover (scan) vehicles into the system, and cover the Quality Control Booth (manager's booth) as needed.
o Operate all vehicles safely on the lot, following posted speed limits, traffic flow, and pedestrian safety procedures.
o Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment, report equipment malfunctions, and notify supervisors when supplies run low.
o Provide courteous assistance to customers on the lot, directing them to the appropriate staff or area when needed.
- Safety and Compliance
o Use cleaning chemicals according to product labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
o Follow heat illness prevention practices, including hydration, rest, and shade breaks, and report signs of heat illness in yourself or coworkers immediately.
o Report all accidents, injuries, near-misses, and unsafe conditions to a supervisor immediately.
o Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Other Duties
o Wash and dry the used microfiber towels using the towel bins and on-site laundry machines, deliver the clean microfiber towels to dedicated areas for car washers to use.
o Maintains adherence to company service protocols, confidentiality guidelines, and quality expectations.
o Participates in ongoing training, performance reviews, and team meetings.
o Maintains compliance with company policies and procedures, local regulations, and recommended best practices.
o Performs other related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
Work is performed primarily outdoors on the lot, with exposure to extreme heat, sun, dust, and seasonal weather conditions.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, crouch, reach, and kneel for extended periods, up to the full length of a shift.
Must be able to enter, exit, and drive vehicles repeatedly throughout the shift.
Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.
Must be able to work around cleaning chemicals, vehicle exhaust, and moving vehicles.
Must have sufficient vision to identify smudges, stains, damage, and debris.
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role.

Able to work full-time, on-site at the designated work location in Las Vegas, NV. Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and early mornings or late evening shifts based on business volume and demands, ensuring all business needs and job duties are met.
