Quality Control Chief

We are looking for an experienced Quality Control Chief to join our client’s automotive manufacturing facility Kocaeli.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end quality control activities across casting and machining processes.
• Lead and coordinate the daily activities and performance of the quality control team.
• Analyze and resolve casting-related quality issues such as porosity, shrinkage, cracks, hardness and microstructure-related defects.
• Analyze dimensional, geometrical, surface and process-related defects arising from CNC and machining processes.
• Ensure effective execution of incoming, in-process and final quality control activities.
• Lead customer complaint investigations and 8D problem-solving activities.
• Actively manage and coordinate PPAP, APQP, PFMEA/FMEA, Control Plan, SPC and MSA activities.
• Plan and conduct process, product and system audits, and ensure effective follow-up of corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 requirements and support internal, customer and certification audits.
• Monitor quality KPIs and lead improvement actions to reduce scrap, rework, customer complaints and process defect rates.
• Lead quality activities during new product launches and coordinate the preparation and submission of PPAP documentation.
• Maintain effective technical communication with OEM, Tier-1 and Tier-2 customers in domestic and international markets.
• Drive continuous improvement and structured problem-solving activities across production processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in automotive quality, preferably including at least 3 years of hands-on foundry experience.
• Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in gray cast iron processes.
• Solid understanding of both casting and machining/CNC processes.
• Experience in analyzing casting defects and conducting root cause analysis.
• Strong knowledge of dimensional, geometrical and surface quality requirements in machining processes.
• Practical experience with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of PPAP, APQP, FMEA/PFMEA, Control Plan and 8D.
• Experience in process, product and quality system audits; VDA 6.3 certification/experience is a plus.
• Previous experience in leading or managing a quality control team.
• Experience in customer and supplier quality management within the automotive industry.
• Ability to communicate technically with OEM and Tier-1/Tier-2 customers.
• Good command of English
