Quality control coordinator

Job Purpose The Quality Control Coordinator is responsible for monitoring and maintaining product quality and food safety standards throughout the receiving, storage, production, packaging, and dispatch processes. The role ensures that raw materials, finished products, production practices, hygiene standards, and documentation comply with company specifications, food safety requirements, and applicable quality standards. Key Responsibilities Inspect incoming raw materials, including rice, pulses, and packaging materials, to ensure compliance with approved specifications. Monitor production and packaging activities to ensure products meet required quality standards. Perform routine quality checks on finished products, including appearance, weight, packaging integrity, labeling, batch numbers, production dates, and expiry dates. Identify and report non-conformities during production, storage, or packaging activities. Coordinate with Production and Warehouse teams to implement corrective and preventive actions. Maintain accurate quality control records, inspection forms, checklists, and reports. Monitor hygiene, sanitation, housekeeping, and food handling practices across the factory. Ensure employees follow food safety procedures. Support the implementation and continuous monitoring ISO 22000, and other applicable food safety standards. Follow up on pest control activities and ensure corrective actions are implemented where required. Monitor warehouse conditions, including cleanliness, product segregation, storage practices, temperature, and humidity where applicable. Conduct sampling of raw materials and finished products and coordinate laboratory testing when required. Investigate product quality complaints and assist in identifying root causes and corrective actions. Follow up on rejected, damaged, expired, or non-conforming products. Assist in conducting internal quality audits and preparing for external audits and inspections. Ensure proper traceability of products through batch and production records. Verify compliance with approved product specifications and packaging standards. Support food safety and hygiene training for factory employees. Prepare periodic quality reports and communicate significant findings to management. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality, food safety, and production efficiency. Perform any other quality-related duties assigned by management. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field. 1 3 years of experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance, preferably within the food manufacturing industry. Experience in rice, grains, pulses, FMCG, or dry food products is considered an advantage. Knowledge & Technical Skills Good knowledge of food safety and quality control principles. Familiarity with ISO 22000 or similar food safety management systems is an advantage. Understanding of product inspection, sampling, traceability, and quality documentation. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word. Ability to prepare clear quality reports and maintain proper records. Competencies Strong attention to detail. The role requires regular presence on the production floor, warehouse, and packaging areas. Flexibility in working hours may be required depending on production schedules. Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.

1 3 years of experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance, preferably within the food manufacturing industry.

Experience in rice, grains, pulses, FMCG, or dry food products is considered an advantage.
