What they need
Join our dynamic team as a Quality Control Electrical Specialist and play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of electrical quality and safety across construction projects. This energetic position offers the opportunity to help us improve the quality, reliability, and performance of our motor control products. In this hands-on role, you’ll test and troubleshoot electronic control boards, investigate failures, support production testing, and work alongside Engineering, R&D, Quality, and Production to identify problems and develop solutions.
If you enjoy figuring out why something isn’t working, getting hands-on with electrical equipment, and solving problems at the component level, this is an opportunity to put those skills to work in a collaborative manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do
- Test and troubleshoot: Perform audit testing on control boards and investigate failures to help identify and resolve quality issues.
- Dig into root causes: Conduct hands-on failure analysis, including electrical measurements and testing, and troubleshoot controls and motors down to the component level.
- Support production: Develop a strong understanding of the processes and equipment used to manufacture motors and motor controls, including wave and reflow soldering, PCB and motor testers, programming, potting, and assembly equipment.
- Keep equipment running: Provide troubleshooting support for computerized test equipment, including control board programmers and testers, and assist with repairs and improvements as needed.
- Turn data into action: Accurately document board failures in the AGATE/EPICORE scrap recording system and prepare reports, including Pareto charts and failure-mode summaries by board type.
- Work across teams: Partner closely with Quality, Engineering, R&D, Production, Supervision, Technicians, and Team and Area Leaders to identify issues and improve processes.
- Communicate findings: Share troubleshooting results, failure analysis, and quality trends with the teams responsible for improving our products and processes.
What You Bring
- 2-year technical degree in electronics or a related technical field, or equivalent experience in electronics, electrical systems, troubleshooting, testing, manufacturing, or a related technical field.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Strong communication, documentation, and reporting skills.
- General computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
- Willingness and ability to expand your skills using electrical test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes, as well as electronic circuitry.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with people across multiple departments and levels of the organization.
