Quality Control Engineer

This position ensures quality control methods are established and carried out for all assigned products. Initiates and leads process improvement activities for all assigned products. This position must be independently carried out with little to no direction from the immediate supervisor. This is a 1st shift position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develops, applies and maintains quality requirements and standards for production products.
• Responsible for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.
• Reviews customer requirements, contracts and change requests and ensures that the necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality and process plans and work instructions.
• Designs and implements methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection.
• Promotes and executes quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents and reports for assigned production areas.
• Initiates in process certification for assigned production areas.
• Initiates and carries out Kaizen activities across the MFG area without having to be prompted.
• Initiates and carries out RVA activities without having to be prompted.
• Develops, executes and analyzes quality-reporting measures.
• Reports to management on process quality issues, trends and losses.
• Participates and provides technical documentation. (APQP)
• Analyze customer complaint defects and conduct actions of reoccurrence.
• Works to maximize raw material value vs effect.
• Visits with customers or suppliers as needed.
• Monitors, analyzes, and reacts to deviations needed across the production floor.
• Supports concurrent engineering efforts by participating in design development projects for assigned production area.
• Creates, tracks, accompanies and reports on Maruhen and sample batch activity.
• Responsible for root cause analysis and corrective actions for issues on assigned products.
• Ensures effective changepoint management is maintained on the production floor.
• Any other duty or task as may be requested by immediate supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering related field preferred.
• Associate’s degree in related field plus minimum 4 years of provenindustrial/technical experience or High school diploma plus minimum 6 years ofproven industrial/technical experience required.
• Knowledge of theory and principles of statistics and statistical process control.
• Diverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques anddocumentation.
• Excellent root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation skills.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Strong computer skills including Quality applications, word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
